A General Guide to Doing Well in School

Alright, and thanks for spending time to read this. This is just a quick post discussing easy ways to raise your marks, and general strategies to doing well in school. Though many of the suggestions in this post are what you hear all the time, if you actually followed them, you would notice a big change in your grades. The big one everyone hates to hear is do not procrastinate. Yeah, yeah, you've all heard this one before, but it actually works. If you get your work done early, the quality of the work can then be improved through peer or teacher editing. Many teachers are completely fine with spending a few minutes to help improve your work, and lots of teachers even encourage it! If a teacher gives you two months to work on a project, there's a reason for it. Chances are, leaving a two month project to the last week will leave you stressed and the quality of the work will most likely decline. A second big tip is to follow instructions. Seems simple right? Though many students think they know what the assignment is all about, you'd be surprised to see how many students do poorly on an assignment simply because they did not read instructions. Just simply following instructions alone will get you a fairly decent grade, and by adding more to the assignment, it can be an easy 85 or above. The third thing to remember about school is to participate in class. You don't necessarily have to be the loud person who takes a shot at all the questions, but make sure you are paying attention in class and occasionally raise your hand at the very least. It's tempting to all of us, but don't text, listen to music, or play with your iPod in class. Doing these things will take your attention away from the material your teacher is trying to get into your head. Actually paying attention in class will help you remember topics more easily, and will reduce the time of you going over your notes to complete a part of an assignment. The last tip we can leave you with is to actually do your homework. All of us believed at one point or another that homework was a creation made by teachers to punish students. However, homework is to benefit students, and not punish them. Actually doing homework will prove to be beneficial. Having been through tests, we know that sometimes questions in your homework will coincidentally appear on tests (but just in different words). Doing homework will get you some easy marks on tests, because you know what you are doing, which is a key to doing tests well. Homework will also help material stay in your head, and will give you a proud feeling when you know all the answers to questions on a test. Alright, that's pretty much it for this quick guide to helping students do better in school. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and please leave a comment with your thoughts and if this helped.
